The Spoils II

Slammed down a Quafe, sucked down a cigarette, hopped in my Rifter and set out to pick up the rest of the loot!

Fast 'n Furious
I picked up from where I last left off. After successfully rounding up the loot and contracting it to my high sec contact, I had some time to kill. I walked over to my hangar as I sipped on a Quafe and looked around. Rifters neatly aligned with various maintenance men doing their duty. I spotted an odd shape towards the back. I made my way towards it as I crushed the empty can and discard it. It was covered in a large dusty tarp. I gripped it and with one strong tug, a shiny Firetail was smiling at me. I ordered the nearby workers to have it ready to roll ASAP.

Beautiful!
I set off from Yvangier with the plan of going through Placid to the system of Vey, and taking the back door through Frarie/Mocli/Ren/Villi/Aldranatte into Black Rise and docking up in Isho. Sounds good! The first few systems reveal nothing. I enter Ouelletta, scan around but come up empty handed as well. To be honest I don't have the best of luck when I fly anything bigger (or more expensive) than a Rifter. The last time I took a Daredevil out, I didn't even get to test it out properly before I got baited by a Slasher at a plex and met two T3 Destroyers. But I was determined to not let my nerves get the best of me! I entered Frarie and saw a flashy Condor on the gate. He knew I was there since we both jumped from the previous system at the same time, so I waited to see what his next move would be. A non flashy Breacher landed on grid as well, and the Condor began to orbit at kiting range at a fast speed. Front row seats to a fight! The Breacher was motionless at the gate, and I waited for the Condor to get close so I can hit him with my scram and webs. At 13km I decloaked, locked him up and failed to land my web or scram. Shit! The curse strikes again! The Breacher targeted me and began to fire, so I focused on him while the Condor fired missiles from far away. My Firetail still had its shields functioning as rockets and missiles exploded on its hull as I returned fire with bullets and rockets. It was an intense fire fight between us. The combination of the Breacher and Condor was beginning to overpower my Firetail, even as the Breacher was doing the low armor/hull dance. I decided to evade the fight. I overheated my afterburner and aligned towards the sun. I escaped the scram of the Breacher easily, but the Condor had me with a long point. His speed and distance was increasing, until I finally heard Aura's soothing voice. I guess he didn't realize I was evading :) The Condor pilot expressed his surprise in local :

I was confident I could take them both. I jumbled over my controls at the gate and my late reactions almost cost me the fight. This time I knew they were together, and who to take out first. Since the Condor was kite fit, I assumed it would have little to no tank. I repaired my ship and warped at distance at the sun in hopes of the Condor doing the same. Seconds went by. Then minutes ....

I sat with my Firetail, everything overheated ready to roll. Even if the Breacher and Condor landed together, burn straight for the Condor! The audible sounds of two frigates exiting warp greeted my ears as the Condor appeared on grid first .. 9k meters away! Yes! Go! Go! Go! Right behind him the Breacher landed. I burned towards the Condor and landed my scram and webs and fired the guns. He was trapped and not getting away from me this time. His TD caused my first few volleys to miss, but one landed and brought him to half shields. Another volley sent him into armor. I approached at straight angle to mitigate the effects of the TD. My guns were ripping him to shreds as another volley sent him into half structure. Burn baby burn! He managed one small rep before his Condor exploded. I switched the scram, webs, and gun fire to the Breacher. The gun fire continued with both our shields falling. I activated my SAAR for the incoming armor damage. Another volley penetrated his shields and sent him into half armor. That's when his MASB kicked in. The sounds of projectiles and rockets exploding filled the air as his reps were keeping the shields on his Breacher from further damage to his smoldering hull, while my tank was comfortably holding. His shield reps were doing work but I stayed on him, it was only a matter of time now. One volley punched through his reps and tore chunks out of his hull. His shield reps were done, and his hull fell quickly. I saw a small chunk of armor rep before another volley finished the Breacher.  Wooo! Gf! Gf! Man! My plan to go for the Condor and land at a distance paid off!

[ 2015.09.11 07:08:34 ] Jock Hurin > hahahhahahaha
[ 2015.09.11 07:08:37 ] Jock Hurin > yeah, me too

I looted the field, docked up to repair the damage, unloaded the loot and collected myself for a couple minutes. Been a while since I've had the shakes, but when they return I love it :)

I set back off on my route still happy with what I just pulled off. Yes I know I was in a faction frigate and they were in T1 frigs, but I finally had a good fight with something that wasn't a Rifter and I was basking in the ambiance! I made it to Ishomilken without finding another fight along the way. I scanned the system just to see if anything was out 'n about, and saw a Condor on scan. I warped to the plex, once I was on grid with him I unleashed the firepower of the Firetail and he exploded quickly. Turns out he was another farmer. Got his pod for good measure. Good roam! I entered the hangar and asked the crew to move the Firetail towards the back. I walked over to it a few minutes later, patted the hull gently, and covered it with a new tarp.

The Spoils

First off wanna welcome our newest Black Jackets to the Club!

Red heads have no souls.
Mina Reverse, a Prospect for only a couple weeks but has the blood lust of a veteran Black Jacket. Always up for a fight and a chill person. Welcome!

The Butcher of Black Rise
Bloody James. No stranger to solo frigate action or low sec, Bloody James has left nothing but smoldering wrecks where ever he goes. It's almost machine like the amount of ships he destroys. Welcome to the Club!

Gimme the Loot!
Now that I've been flying around Caldari Space, the images of camps at every gate and blobs lurking I had of the place gradually faded away. It's been about a month since we've set up shop in Ishomilken, and the amount of blobs/gate camps is relatively the same in the other regions we've roamed. The amount of fights throughout the region has left me with loot all over the place. And having a big 'ol asset window just irks the hell out of me. Only assets I want to see are just my outposts with Rifters, guns, ammo and other necessities for roaming. So I decided to stop procrastinating and collect all the loot to send it back to the market to rejoin the cycle.

Late night is best time to go around collecting loot. Minimal chances of running into gate camps. My only problem would be getting side tracked with fights along the way! But I will focus on the task at hand! I undocked from Isho and set off to my first destination. Two jumps in as I warp to the outgate, I do my usual scanning around in case something good pops up. A Mammoth appears on scan and there's only 1 person in local. I know it isn't POS trash, so I pin point it to a planet. I turn my trusty Rifter around, load my Phased Plasma and Inferno rockets so I don't waste the good stuff and warp off! I land on grid, and the Industrial is 27km off right next to the customs office. I burn towards him and lock him up, but still a good ways away from killing range. Yet the Mammoth sat motionless in space as I got closer. 17km, 16km .. 13km. I get in scram range and let loose the bullets and rockets as I ram my Rifter into him to throw off his alignment, in case of dirty stabs. His shields fall in two volleys and his armor began to crumble quickly. The pilot woke up to the sounds of his ship being violated and began to realign to warp. I tactfully rammed my Rifter into him again. A few seconds later, the Mammoth explodes. I chased his pod to the sun but he warped off right as I got a lock. Ah well! I returned to the planet, looted the good stuff and continued on with my mission.

I arrived in Rakapas and picked up my stuff. I undocked to continue to my next destination, but saw a cyno. Oh yes. I'm that guy. I docked back up, threw everything out on the loading bay and raced back out into space. I was right next to the cyno, when a flashy Daredevil landed about 30km away. I stopped and waited for him to make a move, when he began to burn towards me. Nope! I picked up my stuff and continued on my way. I was enjoying the scenery, playing with the camera taking cool screen shots of my Rifter warping through space. I land on the Heydieles gate and hear an explosion that immediately puts me into armor. A small dose of the shakes run through me as I jump gate and realize what happened. A Raven tried to smart bomb my frigate. Good thing I had my Damage Control on! It's like a seat belt, don't fly without that thing on!

I arrive at the station and dock up. I step out the Rifter to enjoy some Quafe and watch the crew load the loot onto my ship. As I'm sipping my cold, cold Quafe I get a ping. It's from my pal Arsikere.

Arsikere > sem... saw this guy in local... read his bio Ruthless Chi

I remember him. I passed him in on the way as he was in a pod.

Sem Skord > talking to him in the pub right now
Sem Skord > saw him in a pod, asked if the incursus on scan got 'em

Ruthless Chi was looking for a pirate corp, and I've spotted him a few times in our pub. As we passed each other, we chatted about what got him. I had the idea of killing the guy who got him, then approaching him to fly with us.

Sem Skord > what was his name?
Ruthless Chi > Kill: Ruthless Chi (Coercer)
Sem Skord > rgr
Sem Skord > gracias
Ruthless Chi > avenge me

The crew signaled that the Rifter was loaded and ready to go. I slammed down the rest of my drink and took the reigns. I told Ruthless I'd keep an eye out as I set off to Ouelletta. I pass through the systems enjoying the scenery, paying special attention to local for any sign of Ruthless's killer. I reach Ouelletta, and that's when I spot him. Not thee killer, but a killer nonetheless.

The Duke!
Duke Kincaid. Former Black Jacket, former Hayabusa pilot, now a one man wolf pack. We greeted each other in local. I scanned around and saw only a Merlin out in space .. at a plex. It was only three other people in local, so I warped towards it expecting to find the Duke. His background as a Black Jacket and SKRMR pilot, I expected an unconventional Merlin fit. The only thing I could think of was an armor tanked, would have to gamble with the type of guns. I've been caught by surprise by dual web, armor tanked Merlins, even tried it once before but exploded in a ball of fire and fail. I loaded Fusion ammo and Nova rockets and overheated everything. The Duke was 6k meters from me as I locked him up and burned towards him. I landed my scram and web first and fired away. Three volleys put him in half shields, so my gamble paid off! He locked me up and returned fire. Rails! I kept my afterburner overheated and closed range. The Duke put me into armor just as fast, but my charge to close distance had already put his Merlin into structure! He was landing some good shots as my speed fell and he slowly began to widen the gap between us. That's when his reps kicked in. All I could do was mash approach to maximize the effectiveness of my autocannons. My tank was holding comfortably as his ship danced between very low armor and hull. I landed a nice hit that put him into half structure but one of his reps brought life back into his armor. His Merlin was on fire struggling to pull range. My tank continued to hold nicely as my guns and rockets tore apart the frigate. A sliver of hull remained, and I watched my rockets fly towards the Duke to deliver the final blow. Wooo! Gf!! The shakes were upon me! I didn't bother to capture his pod out of respect for the Duke. We exchanged gf's as I looted n scooted. I docked in the station and exited my pod to guzzle down another Quafe. I contacted Ruthless to let him know I haven't seen any sign of the quarry.

Ruthless Chi > its np brah
Ruthless Chi > my executioner is full of win
Sem Skord > have we shot each other before?
Ruthless Chi > if you fly ut here then more than likely yes
Ruthless Chi > im always flying exe torms and coercers out here
Ruthless Chi > im down if you want to make it official : O
Ruthless Chi > then I need to go to bed
Ruthless Chi > gonna go crush a dart brb
Sem Skord > talking 'bout shooting each other?
Ruthless Chi > yes

After some discussion on where to meet, we settle on a halfway mark between our current locations. I set my destination towards Reitsato, inform the loading crew to keep the loot packaged and ready to go, and take off in my Rifter. I reach the system and see Ruthless on scan along with other frigates. We decide to fight at a far away planet away from the buzz of the center. I inform him to warp 100km off the planet, and that the fight begins when both ships are on grid. I land and no one is on grid, so I sit and wait while mashing short scan. A few moments go by until an Executioner pops up. I load Fusion ammo along with Nova rockets and wait. Moments later he lands right on top of me. I burn towards him as I lock him up, land my point and web and let the guns loose. Within seconds the Executioner is in deep armor but is faster than my Rifter. I overheat my afterburner to regain a bit of ground or stay closer a bit longer. Ruthless pulls range at a straight angle and I stay on him, the distance increasing little by little. He's 5k meters from me but my autocannons continue to land solid blows that rock his frigate. My tank holds the line while his reps are doing enough to keep him from going down but struggle to repair the damage from each volley of bullets and rockets. Seconds later, the Executioner explodes.

Sem Skord > gf
Ruthless Chi > gf
Ruthless Chi > started a little too close lol
Sem Skord > just the way i like it :)

I decided now was the time to ask him to fly with us.

Sem Skord > couldnt help but notice ur bio
Sem Skord > would love to have you fly with us, blow stuff up
Ruthless Chi > thats why im hanging out here

:D
After some more discussion, Ruthless decided to join Black Rebel Rifter Club. Yes! His attitude and willingness to undock and cause explosions is just what we're looking for, and I know he'll fit right in.

Ruthless Chi
We exchange gf's again and part ways. I made my way back towards Ouelletta to pick up the loot I left there. As I entered the hangar, the loading crew had purchased some food and drinks and made themselves comfortable. After they loaded the loot I gave 'em some ISK for their patience and went towards Yvangier where I had most of the loot stored. I docked up for the night as it was getting late, and decided to collect the rest of the spoils tomorrow night. An eventful and fruitful roam :)
